A
well-rounded musical education is so much more than just a weekly
lesson on the instrument of choice. While lessons
can be fun and interesting in the beginning, the initial novelty
and excitement soon wears off when the reality of ‘hard work’ and
the discipline of daily practise dawns. It is the teachers job to
guide the student through the difficult learning process so that
the benefits of problem solving, creative thought and the rewards
of ‘sticktuitiveness’ hard work can lead to the joy and
fun of music.
