| A course for
all teachers of piano, FINGERGYM is a technical and creative process
designed by Barbara, founded on the necessary principles
of physical coordination, discriminating ear-training, strength and
creative development of the child. The goal is to help teacher’s
refine diagnostic pedagogical ability, strengthen and enhance technical
facility and fluency in students, as well as to promote the expressive
connection to text that leads to the child’s development of
his or her own ‘voice’ in musical performance.
Creativity is the connecting of unusual or opposing elements and
ideas
Co-ordination is the linking of opposing mental and physical elements
The
Goal is to
produce free-flowing mental (creative) and physical (technical)
performance abilities in piano students. As ‘Arts
Educators’, our purpose is to train artists who are capable
of physical athleticism at the instrument and who think creatively,
making visceral and cerebral connections to text, possessing strong
problem-solving skills.
